Our Story
A challenge born from friendship. A road trip that showed what was possible. A beloved course that closed forever. This is why 50 States Golf Club exists.
Our Story
It started with a college friend's idea — golf all 50 states. The kind of goal that sounds crazy until you realize it's exactly the right kind of crazy. We picked it up and ran with it for a few years, chasing courses between everything else life had going on.
Then life really showed up. Full-time careers. Kids and their schedules. The kind of years where golf trips become a negotiation with the calendar. But here's what nobody tells you about driving your kids to out-of-state tournaments: you're already crossing state lines. You're already halfway there. A Saturday morning tee time before the afternoon game. An early round while everyone else is still asleep. A bucket list course finally checked off — not someday, but now, because now you happen to be in the right state.
The summer that changed everything came courtesy of an RV and the open road. Twenty-three states. Thousands of miles. The trip was built around the kids and their sports — but somewhere in those miles, golf kept finding a way in. A round here, a quick nine there. Not twenty-three states of golf — maybe three or four — but enough to see what was possible. Enough to understand that there is no better reason to explore America than a fairway waiting in a state you've never played. The road trip planted a seed.
And then came the loss that made the mission urgent. A favorite course in South Carolina — one of those irreplaceable places where the game felt exactly right — closed its doors. Gone. Not for lack of quality. For lack of traffic. Because the travelers who would have loved it never knew it existed. Because nobody had given them a reason to go.
50 States Golf Club was built so that never happens again.
We exist to send motivated, passionate golfers to courses they'd never have found on their own — from iconic bucket list destinations to hidden gems in states they've never played. We exist to bridge generations: the golfer who has loved this game for decades, and the one just discovering it. To make golf travel accessible at every budget, every skill level, every family schedule — hence the tiers, hence the Quick Nine, hence the belief that any round in a new state is a round worth counting.
This game has given so much to so many. We're here to give it back — and to leave the grass greener for those who follow.
